Engineer vs technician. Who's better?

“Engineer bukan tau buat kerja.nak tukaq lubricant oil pun bukan reti"

"Technician ni SBR tank pun dia tak tau benda apa.tu belum aku keluar teori2 saintifik lagi"

"engineneer tau nak ngarah orang ja.padahal apa yang dia suruh tu, tak masuk akal"

"technician ni, orang bagi kerja semua tak boleh"

Wow.Hot debate. So,who's better?

At my workplace, I notice this 'war'.

Technician say that they are better.

Engineer say the are better.

They all say,without them-the company cannot operate.

Well that is true.

For me, this is like the egg and chicken situation.

Who are we to say that chicken are superior because it can lay egg?

And can anyone say egg is superior because it became a chicken?

Without the egg, there will be no chicken,

without the chicken there will be no egg.
If one of them is gone, there will be no chicken at all

hmm..mungkin..arnab jadi daging utama..sedap gak tu..huhu)

They are co-existing.They need each other.

So are the engineer and technician.

For a trainee like me,I noticed that I need both technician and engineer in order for me to accomplished a task given.

Imagine that I want to paint a picture.
An engineer, will describe the colour,shape, and type of painting that you need to paint
But with that information, I still couldn't paint. I don't know where the material are.I don't know how.
I need technician to teach me how to find the materials such as the brush,canvas and paint. and teach me how to draw.
Only then, I can create a grand masterpiece.

In sum, You guys need each other. Don't ever say your job is better or more important than the other. You might be surprised at how much you will learn if you stop judging others,and instead learn the difference.
